In view of the problems of north-south ridge direction and small row spacing cultivation mode of vegetables in solar greenhouse,which are not conducive to mechanized operation and low management efficiency,the tomato variety 'Lola' was used as the experimental material in this experiment.Under the condition of density of 2400 plants/667 ?,two levels were designed in the ridge direction,namely,NS(north-south ridge direction)and EW(eastwest ridge direction),and the plant row spacing was set at three levels,T40(large row spacing 100 cm,small row spacing 40 cm,plant spacing 40cm),T30(large row spacing 140 cm,small row spacing 40 cm,plant spacing 30cm),T25(large row spacing 180 cm,small row spacing 40 cm,plant spacing 25cm).The effects of different ridge direction and plant row spacing on the growth and development,yield and quality of tomato were studied.The main results are as follows:1.As the row spacing increased and the plant spacing decreased,the stem diameter,leaf area and dry weight of tomato increased first and then decreased under the same ridge direction.Under the same plant spacing,the stem diameter and leaf area and dry weight of the east-west ridge were slightly higher than that of the north-south ridge,but the difference was not significant.The tomato plants treated by EWT30 had the best growth.The stem diameter,leaf area and dry weight of the plants were increased by 4.2%,7.62% and 14.04%,respectively,compared with the conventional cultivation NST40.2.The ridge direction and plant spacing significantly affected the net photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll content of the middle and lower leaves of tomato group and root activity;Under the same ridge direction,with the increase of row spacing and the decrease of plant spacing,net photosynthetic rate,chlorophyll the content and root activity increased first and then decreased,and the treatment of T30 was the largest.Under the same plant spacing,the east-west ridge was slightly higher than the north-south ridge.3.With the increase of row spacing and the decrease of plant spacing,the fruit weight per plant,the number of fruit per plant and the yield per plant increased at first and then decreased at the same ridge direction.With the same row spacing,the yield in the east-west ridge direction was higher than that in the north-south ridge direction,and there was a significant difference between T30 and T25 treatments.Equivalent to the yield of 667 ?,the yield of EWT30 treatment was 8126.79 kg,which was 12.1% higher than that of conventional cultivation of NST40.4.With the increase of row spacing and the decrease of plant spacing,the contents of soluble sugar,soluble protein,organic acid and lycopene in fruit increased at first and then decreased at the same ridge direction.Under the same row spacing,there was no significant difference in the contents of soluble sugar,soluble protein,organic acid and lycopene between east-west ridge and north-south ridge direction.
