Study On The Development Of The Characteristic Industry Of Camellia Oleifera In Guangxi

Camellia oleifera is one of the major tree species as sources of edible oil in China.Celebrated for its long storage period and high nutritional value,oil extracted from the seeds of camellia oleifera is generally accepted as the world’s most nutritious and high-quality edible oil and healthy oil with high economic and ecological value.Praised as the "national demonstration city of oil-bearing tree area" and with camellia oleifera industry as its characteristic industry,Baise is a key and traditional camellia oleifera producing region of Guangxi with a long history of cultivation,abundant natural resources and favorable conditions.The development of camellia oleifera industry is of great significance for relieving the pressure on arable land,improving the ecological environment in the old revolutionary base areas,increasing the income of farmers in mountainous areas,facilitating the targeted poverty alleviation and ensuring the safety of grain and oil of China.Taking the development of camellia oleifera industry in Baise as an example,this thesis investigates the development of camellia oleifera industry in Guangxi(especially in Baise region)and typical growers.By adopting methods including investigation,comparison of documents,data analysis,generalization and situation analysis,it analyzes the internal advantages,external opportunities and challenges in the development of camellia oleifera industry in Baise region.Based on the analysis and judgement of the current situation,pattern and distribution of Baise camellia oleifera industry,it explores innovative development for the industry to optimize the structure of development and make Baise camellia oleifera industry more competitive and stronger.My conclusions are as following:Firstly,Baise is a key camellia oleifera producing region with abundant resources in Guangxi.With favorable natural conditions for camellia oleifera production,the camellia oil is high-quality and with an outstanding characteristic of rich in selenium and low in iodine.With a high starting point and its own strengths,the camellia oleifera industry has developed rapidly and become an important industry for poverty alleviation and economic growth.However,Baise camellia oleifera industry is of a large scale without strength,and of various types but are not of high quality in its products.Restricted by the difficulty of integration in industrial resources,insufficient investment of industrial funds,and difficulty of building brands,it is not easy to make the characteristic industry of camellia oleifera more competitive and stronger.Secondly,based on the current situation and development orientation of Baise camellia oleifera,this thesis makes a comprehensive analysis on the development trend,the advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and crises of Baise camellia oleifera industry by using the SWOT situation analysis method.Combined with the development experience of domestic and abroad regions as well as regions in and out of Guangxi,the thesis puts forward its views on developing more competitive and stronger Baise camellia oleifera industry and brands building.Thirdly,promoting the high quality development is vital to the determination of development ideas,formulation of economic policies and implementation of macro-control measures.To speed up the high quality development of Baise characteristic industry of camellia oleifera,it is necessary to start with the layout planning,working mechanism,development pattern,leading enterprises and brand building to full develop its original advantages and overcome its disadvantages.Drawing lessons from relevant fields and oil industries from Guanxi and other provinces,the emphasis shall be put on the intensive development,large-scale operation and brand building to expand the scale of operation,promote the conversion from quantitative mode to quality beneficial mode for the camellia oleifera industry,so as to build the camellia oleifera industry as the new industry reached 10 billion yuan in Baise city,promote the harmonious and sustainable development of regional characteristic industry of camellia oleifera and give rise to the overall high quality development of camellia industry.
