| In this paper, the nutritional value feeding value of forage sorghum silage were evaluated, the experiment was carried out by feeding sweet sorghum silage to sheep, the effects of feeding forage sorghum silage on milk performance of dairy cows, lactating cows as experimental animals, exploring the possibility of feeding sweet sorghum as silage,The sweet sorghum feed for cow and sheep provided reference,as a new feed. The experiment was conducted to determinate the quality and nutrient content of silage sweet sorghum and core silage, exploring the possibility of forage sorghum was made silage, after silage making has been completed, the first sampling was performed at 45 d,the sampling time interval 10~15 d,a total of 4 times,at the time of collection, the samples were collected by 9 point sampling method for on-site evaluation and chemical evaluation. The results showed that there was no significant difference in sensory evaluation of corn silage and forage sweet sorghum silage in terms of smell, color and texture(P>0.05),so the quality grades of the two kinds of silage were excellent. In the content of pH,lactic acid bacteria, acetic acid, propionic acid and butyric acid, there was no significant difference between forage sweet sorghum silage and corn silage(P>0.05).In the content of nutrients, other nutrients were no difference between forage sweet sorghum silage and corn silage(P>0.05),in addition to the content of neutral detergent fiber in forage sweet sorghum silage was increased by 28.15% than that of corn silage and the phosphorus content of forage sweet sorghum silage was significantly lower than that of corn silage(P<0.05).In this experiment, the sensory quality evaluation and chemical evaluation of forage sweet sorghum silage and corn silage were close, therefore, forage sorghum silage can be made for silage. The experiment was conducted to study the effect of forage sweet sorghum silage and corn silage diet on growth performance and main nutrient digestibility of sheep,in order to provide the basis of theory for the application of forage sweet sorghum silage instead of corn silage in ruminant production.Twelve healthy Tao Dorset rams aged 12 months old with similar weight(47.95±4.49 kg)were randomly divided into 2 groups(control group and experimental group)and 6 sheep in each group, feeding separately.sheep in control group were fed corn silage 1.5kg,those in the experimental group were fed forage sweet sorghum silage 1.5kg,other composition and amount in feed were the same as those in the control group. The experiment lasted for 21 days comprised a 15 d adaptation and 6 d trial period. In the aspect of main nutrient digestibility, the experimental results showed that there were no significant difference on the intake of nutrient, digestion amount and digestive rate among each group(P>0.05),In terms of weight gain, the total weight gain and average daily gain of experimental group were increased by 43.81%(P<0.05)and 35.71%(P<0.05)than that in control group.Under the condition of the experiment, feeding forage sweet sorghum silage and corn silage diet has the same effect on the aspect of main nutrient digestibility and growth performance in sheep. Therefore,it is feasible to substitute forage sweet sorghum silage for corn silage in the diet of sheep. The experiment was conducted to study the effects of substituting forage sorghum silage for corn silage on milk performance of dairy cows in middle and late lactation.Forty healthy Holstein cows in middle and late lactation with same weight, age and milk yield were randomly divided into 2 groups(control group and experimental group)and 20 cows in each group, feeding separately.Cows in control group were fed with the mixed feed containing corn silage, those in the experimental group were fed with the mixed feed containing forage sorghum silage. The experiment lasted for 70 days comprised a 10 d adaptation and 60 d trial period. The results showed that the average daily milk yield of both groups were decreased gradually, respectively,It was higher in the experimental group than the control group, but there was no significant difference(P>0.05).As the experiment went on,the milk fat percentage, milk protein percentage, lactose, total solids, and non-fat solids were increased, while the freezing point and urea nitrogen of milk in the experimental group were decreased compared with the control group. There was no significant difference in milk composition between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).The milk yield and milk composition of cows in middle and late lactation that were fed with forage sorghum silage instead of corn silage were close. Therefore,it is feasible to substitute forage sorghum silage for corn silage in the diet of dairy cows. |
