Water retaining agent is a new kind of functional polymer material.Its water absorbency can reach hundreds or even thousands of times of its own quality and is gelatinous,and it slowly releases moisture under dry conditions.It has unique water absorption and water retention ability,and has wide application in farmland drought resistance,landscaping,crop protection and seedling production,desert management and so on.However,the traditional water-retaining agent has a single function,and it is difficult to maintain fertility and entropy while retaining water.Therefore,the research of water-retaining agent with high water absorption rate,good salt resistance and fertilizer release function has become a research frontier and hot spot in this field.In this paper,a new type of water-retaining agent based on bone powder was synthesized by aqueous solution polymerization,using biomass resource bone powder as raw material,acrylic acid(AA)and acrylamide(AM)as monomers,ammonium persulfate(APS)as initiator,N,N-methylene bisacrylamide(MBA)as crosslinking agent,and orthogonal experiments were carried out to optimize the synthesis of a new type of water-retaining agent.The amount of AA:AM=1.5:1,the amount of initiator and cross-linking agent was 2.0% and 0.25% respectively.Under this condition,the absorbance rate of water was(840±20)g/g and that of saline was(120±5)g/g.In the second part of the work,bone powder and potassium humate-mixed matrix were used as raw materials to prepare bone powder and potassium humate-based multi-functional water retaining agent.Under the optimized conditions,the product test results showed that the water absorption ratio was(660±20)g/g,the salt absorption ratio was(70±5)g/g,and had excellent fertilizer release function.The experiment showed that within 40 days,the potassium fertilizer release ratio of multifunctional water retaining agent samples was not more than 80%.Subsequently,soil proved that the multi-functional water retaining agent has excellent water retaining function.The spinach was used as a model to carry out biological experiments.The results showed that the multi-functional water retaining agent can promote the germination rate by about 20% and the net weight of finished products by about 15%.Finally,according to the above experimental conditions and experimental data,the production process of bone meal and potassium humate-based water-retaining agent for agriculture and forestry was designed.The production scale was 10,000 tonsper year.The process belonged to the pre-design,including the selection of raw material ratio,the conception of process flow chart,material balance and heat balance,the determination of process equipment type,etc.
