Research On Long-term Flower Border Design In Shanghai And Hangzhou

Flower border is a kind of artistic flower application form which simulates the growth of various plants in nature.Flower border is rich in plant species and various in configuration,which can make full advantages of herbaceous plant diversity.In recent years,China has gradually attached importance to the application of flower borders in urban landscape with the need of beautifying and coloring urban construction.At the same time,many display flower borders have appeared,which violate their essential characteristics of perennial and sustainability.The study makes a deep analysis of the long-term flower border,taking Shanghai and Hangzhou as the research area.It hopes that it can reflect on the position,material selection and construction methods of flower border,and explore the design methods adapted to the area.The main results of this paper are as follows:(1)The paper summarizes theoretical research progress of flower border design at home and abroad based on the systematic study of historical evolution,plant material,design theory and maintenance management.Based on this,the concept of long-term flower border is put forward,which is a stable artificial plant community composed of perennial plants to show the natural state of life.(2)The research summarizes design methods of flower border from the aspects of color,elevation,plant community and ecological habits by making a long-term survey of topical flower border in Shanghai and Hangzhou.It is proposed that the long-term flower border has many characteristics,such as natural scenic forest as background,new excellent shrubs as skeleton,perennial herbaceous as the main color.And it also points out that there are still some problems such as single pattern,strong color stacking,inadequate annual management.(3)The design methods of long-term flower borders are discussed from both ecological and artistic aspects.The ecological design should follow the principles of species diversity and landscape diversity,and select suitable plants according to climate and environmental conditions to ensure the stability of plant communities.The artistic design methods are discussed from the perspectives of color design,graphic design and elevation design by comparative analysis with excellent cases in English gardens.Flower border should design with shape,texture,color to create long-term landscape.(4)Flower border case study was carried out in Shangyu'Secret Garden' and Hangzhou Qingshan Lake garden.Through these cases,the paper proposes that long-term flower border design should pay attention to rational development and local expression,improve the level of conservation management,in order to achieve sustainable development of flower border landscape.
