In this paper, the characteristics of canine and cat spinal nerve diseases and the imaging characteristics of MRI are summarized and analyzed, which can provide reference for the diagnosis of canine and cat spinal nerve diseases.A total of 95 clinical cases of spinal nervous system diseases were collected, and the characteristics of the disease were analyzed from the aspects of species, sex, age, symptoms, types and locations of the diseases. This paper lists some disease scanning images and summarizes the characteristics of some spinal nervous system diseases on MRI The results showed that the incidence rate of dogs is higher than that of cats(1.87:1);the incidence rate of male animals is higher than that of female animals(1.69:1);dogs at the age of 3~6 with the diseases are in the majority(29.03%)and cats at the age of 1~3 with the diseases are in the majority(33.33%);Poodles,American Shorthair cats and British Shorthair cats were more likely to be affected.Statistical analysis of 95 cases of canine and cat spinal nervous system diseases showed that: 6 cases are with congenital malformation(6.3%);58 cases are with degenerative disc disease(61%);12 cases are with spinal cord injury(12.6%);14 cases are with syringomyelia(14.7%);6 cases are with tumors;7 cases are with inflammatory disease;pathogenic sites concentrated on C3-C4(6.3%),T12-13(8.4%)and T11-T12(7.3%);the common disease symptoms contain ataxia(50.5),paresis(45.2%),paralysis(49.4%),claudication(33.6%)and ache(60%)and so on.In addition, this paper optimizes the common scanning sequence parameters of anmials with different body types. It provides theoretical basis for the clinical diagnosis of spinal nervous system diseases in small animals by MRI.
