This paper selects panel data from 86 prefecture-level cities in Shanxi,Henan,Hubei,Anhui,Hunan and Jiangxi provinces in central China from 2000 to 2017,and uses a modified cultivated land pressure index model to comprehensively consider regional cultivated land quality, cultivated land use heterogeneity and food Economic accessibility, measuring the overall and sub-regional use of cultivated land resources in the central region and the magnitude of pressure, reflecting the regional differences in cultivated land pressure in the central region from both time series and spatial distribution, using Kernel density estimation and exploratory spatial data analysis The regional differences and their sources in the central region depict the dynamic evolution of cultivated land pressure. The research results show that:1)Time series distribution characteristics of cultivated land pressure:From 2000 to 2017,the pressure of cultivated land in the central region was more optimistic. The average annual cultivated land pressure was low,but the difference in cultivated land pressure within the region was large. The cultivated land pressure in Shanxi Province was the most severe. The average cultivated land pressure index value is above 2,there are obvious human-land contradictions in the region, and the food security is low, while the situation of cultivated land pressure in Hubei Province is the most optimistic, and the utilization of cultivated land resources in the region is more reasonable;2)Spatial distribution characteristics of cultivated land pressure:central Regional cultivated land pressure showed a declining trend during the observation period. The urban cultivated land pressure in the central region was mainly precautionary and unstressed.High-pressure cities were scattered in the central region. The western border and the central part of the central region had severe cultivated land pressure, and the remaining part The situation of urban cultivated land pressure is more optimistic;3)The evolution law of cultivated land pressure time series:the overall cultivated land pressure level in the central region is continuously decreasing, there is polarization, and the overall density curve of each province is different in terms of overall position,kurtosis,shape,etc.;4)cultivated land pressure Law of Spatial Evolution:Cultivated Land Pressure in Central Region Significant positive spatial autocorrelation to "Low-Low" homogeneous type region mainly spatial distribution of cold hot spots has certain stability, there is a space aggregation trend. In view of the utilization of cultivated land resources and socio-economic status of cities in the central region,it is recommended that cities with high annual average cultivated land pressure should control the conversion of cultivated land to construction land to maintain the quantity and quality of existing cultivated land;the annual average cultivated land pressure is at low and medium pressure Cities should properly carry out land consolidation and reclamation work to improve the overall agricultural productivity;for cities below the average annual cultivated land pressure as a warning pressure, they should vigorously support their agricultural production work, invest in advanced agricultural technology and financial support, increase grain yields, and promptly Cities with severe arable land pressure provide food supplies to ensure food security across the province and among cities.
