Studies On The Production Efficiency Of Inner Mongolia Mutton Sheep Breeding Industry

With the improvement of per capita income level and consumers' attention to health,mutton has been more and more favored by consumers because of its high protein content and low fat and cholesterol content.The increasing heat of mutton consumption,coupled with the low reproductive efficiency of mutton sheep,makes it difficult to achieve a significant increase in mutton sheep production in the short term,and the mutton supply is obviously insufficient,which brings great opportunities to the development of mutton sheep breeding industry.Inner Mongolia is the largest mutton production province in China,but the level of mutton sheep breeding is relatively low.Production efficiency plays a decisive role in the breeding process of mutton sheep.Therefore,the study on production efficiency of mutton sheep breeding industry,it is of great practical significance to understand the production potential of Inner Mongolia mutton sheep,to improve the productivity level of mutton sheep industry and to seek effective supply countermeasures for Inner Mongolia Mutton Market.Based on the production status of Inner Mongolia Meat Sheep Breeding Industry,this paper analyzes the production efficiency of Inner Mongolia Meat Sheep Breeding Industry by DEA method,using the time series data of cost and income from 2009 to 2018.According to the results of comprehensive technical efficiency calculation,the comprehensive technical efficiency value of Inner Mongolia meat sheep breeding industry production fluctuated from 2009 to 2018,among which only the production efficiency of this sheep breeding industry reached the effective state in 2018,neither sheep nor goats were improved.The pure technical efficiency of goat breeding industry is lower than the average value of 0.849 from 2014 to 2017.During this period,the pure technical efficiency level of improved sheep is declining,although it has improved in 2018,but pure technical efficiency is not stable to the improvement of production efficiency.From the result of scale efficiency calculation,the scale efficiency of this breed of sheep is relatively low from 2013 to 2016,which is the main reason of its production efficiency inefficiency.The results showed that the scale efficiency of goat,improved sheep and this breed of sheep were all lower than the national average level.Based on the above research results,it is put forward that through the industrial agglomeration,to promote the large-scale production of mutton sheep breeding,to manage the mutton sheep production scientifically,to control the breeding cost effectively,to strengthen the farmers' technical training,and to improve the production efficiency of mutton sheep breeding industry;Attaching importance to the policy guidance of government departments,and the joint efforts of government and enterprises to improve production efficiency;strengthening product traceability,strengthening the improvement of mutton sheep breeds,ensuring the safety of mutton sheep breeding from the source,contributing to the improvement of mutton sheep production efficiency,and so on,improving production efficiency of meat sheep breeding industry in Inner Mongolia.
