Formulation Of Crabapple Genetic Resources Description Norms And Data Standards

Flowing crabapples(Malus Mill.)are among the most popular ornamental trees.Few woody plants offer so many all-season values as these trees.China is one of the gene distribution centers of Malus Mill.with a variety of crabapple genetic resources.The Beijing Botanical Garden was recognized as the international cultivar registration authorities for Malus Mill.(excluding M.× domestica)(ICRAM)by the Special Commission for Cultivar Registration of the International Society for Horticultural Science(ISHS)in 2014,and in 2017,Beijing crabapple national forest genetic resources database was selected into the second batch of national forest genetic resources database.The research and industry about crabapple are becoming increasingly important.Due to of lack of a unified data standards,data and information management cannot be carried out effectively,crabapple-related scientific research and industrial development cannot effectively development.Therefore,it is imperative to formulate description and data standard for crabapple genetic resources.The main research focuses of this thesis fall on the research and summary of the existing technical specification documents such as plant description norms and data standards,and the collection and analysis of crabapple genetic resources information data.Through the research on the existing technical specification document research,it is hoped to find out the methods and deficiencies of current regulatory documents,so as to prepare the technical specifications of the crabapple genetic resources according to its unique features.The research on the information data of crabapple genetic resources is intended to get a comprehensive grasp of information of crabapple from all aspects and support the description standards for crabapple genetic resources.The results of this thesis are as follows:1.The existing plant technical specifications and regulatory documents mainly focus on agricultural and forestry crops,and seldom take ornamental plants as observation objects to describe their unique features.This research has added the ornamental characteristics of crabapple germplasm resources into description norms and data standards;2.A comprehensive survey on crabapple germplasm resources was conducted to provide a detailed basis for the specific description and grading of crabapple genetic resources;3.A draft of " Crabapple Genetic Resources Description Norms and Data Standards" was prepared and formulated.The research of this thesis is the first to put forward the description and data standard of ornamental plants in China.According to the description specification and data standard drafted by the thesis,the information of crabapple genetic resources can be directly converted into database content.The research will greatly support the work of the international cultivar registration authorities for Malus Mill.and Beijing crabapple national forest genetic resources database.
