The Study On The Visual Characteristics Of Modern Crabapple And Its Applied Value In Landscape

The crabapple is the traditional famous flower of our country, and has a 2000-yearhistory. It is used broadly in landscape architecture and formed multifarious flora, whichwe called traditional crabapple. In other countries, they do further research in crabapplebreeding and chose a series of crossbreed which is from our national crabapple breed.Because of the excellent view value, we made sweeping breed and study, which we calledmodern crabapple. In this paper, the conceptions of traditional crabapple and moderncrabapple were given, and the conception of"city scenery" was put forward.Taking the modern crabapples as research objects which contains 30 speciesintroduced from abroad.Giving amply observation to the vision character, and analyse theEsthetic value on the basic,in order to give suggestion to the application in the city space.The results as follows:(1)For more than one year's field survey to morden crabapple, we concludes theseason variety, body quantity, figure, colour and adapt ability as the describe index.(2)The esthetics value of the modern crabapple embodies at three aspects,such ascolour, carriage,ecology.Comparing morden crabapple with traditional crabapple, we canconclude that the morden crabapple can come to being new landscape type and prolong theview period.From the appreciation mind, the modern crabapple match to"make people thecenter" of standpoint; The modern crabapple following with tall tree and flower bush havemore view points.(3) The paper researches the crabapple'application in city from three aspects whichcontains application in the space distance, plant design and appropriate space.Theornamental characteristic of plants change with different view distance. The properplanting ways are discussed in the various different distance.(4)Through the research on crabapple, combined the climate condition and city integerscene, the paper made discuss on how to upgrade city visualize, form local city featurewith crabapple. We fix the aim at Xing City which located in south of He Bei province.Where the climate condition is suit for crabapple, and has a history of planting crabapple.Combined the city culture and modern city build, we raise the assume of make Xing City became "The City of China Crabapple".
