This paper discusses about the general outlook of forest conservation and Alternative Income Generating Activity together with socio-economic characteristic of the communities surrounding KPFR which is a second biggest forest reserve in Zanzibar.Qualitative method were used in gathering information using open and close ended questionnaire for household heads practice AIGA‘s which was conducted four AIGA‘s which are beekeeping, tree planting?afforestation?,handicraft and crop cultivation from five selected village out of ten through randomly sampling The collected information analyzed by different method which are descriptive statistics and multinomial logistic regression using Microsoft excel and STATA 15 version.Based on socio-economics characteristic, participation of community members in forest conservation activities and challenge facing the communities the descriptive statistics were used to analyze the collected information. The description and characteristics of the sample population that explain the profile of the community are presented. The study concludes that there high number of female practice AIGA‘s compare to male and most of them are aged?adult?.Beekeeping and crop production peoples practice more compare to other AIGA‘s beside AIGA‘s the main activities that communities perform are agriculture and fishing and is the main source of income for villagers in Zanzibar and even for national level. The result concludes that 86.89 percentages of all respondent the AIGA‘s activities influence to participate in forest conservation activities.Based on how Alternative income generating Activities influence conservation the study use multinomial logistic regression with five conservation outcomes as dependent variable which are reduction fuel wood extraction, reduction charcoal production and reduction of timber, improvement of sustainable forest management and reduction extraction of non–timber extraction where reduction of fuel wood extraction act as reference category?P0?for the result. On reduction of charcoal production tree planting?afforestation?has positive influence which is significance to reduction of charcoal production while beekeeping, handicraft and crop production not significant on influencing the reduction of charcoal production,Based on reduction extraction of non-timber forest product also tree planting has positive influence which is significant and influence the reduction on non-timber extraction forest products which is important to improve forest conservation while beekeeping, handicraft and crop production is not significant and not having influence on reduction extraction of non-timber forest products, based on reduction of timber extraction from forest reserve both tree planting, beekeeping, handicraft and crop cultivation having positive influence to forest conservation which is significance to forest conservation. Also for improving sustainable forest management both four interviewed Alternative Income Generating Activities which mean beekeeping, crop cultivation, handicraft and tree planting activities having influence on improving sustainable forest management. So the study conclude that tree planting activity having influence on both conservation outcome and meet the aim of introduced while beekeeping, crop production and handicraft is significance and having to reduction of extraction of timber production from forest reserve and improvement of sustainable forest conservation while not having influence to reduction of charcoal production and extraction of non-timber forest products. So The AIGA‘s influence communities for large extents to participate in forest conservation activities such as forest patrol, firefighting awareness and afforestation,The AIGA‘s having relation with conservation activities having high percentage on influencing forest conservation example tree planting activity and beekeeping compare to others.
