The garden major in secondary vocational school is to be able to cultivate some people with high-quality and modern skill,which can meet the requirements of China's socialist modernization construction.Those people have basic garden expertise and an outstanding skill in order to working in the front line of production,service,technology and management in the field of gardens.With the rapid pace of urban modernization in China,the demand and requirements for modern gardening talents are constantly increasing day by day.The vocational education in garden has an increasingly important role in China's economic construction and urban modernization.In this regard,this study takes a secondary agricultural school in Lanzhou as an example and adopts some research methods,such as questionnaire survey,interview to investigate and research the teaching status of the course of "the control of diseases and pest in garden plant" from the situation of the course,the teaching of teachers and the learning of students.The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems in teaching of this course,and provides some reference and suggestions for improving the teaching effect of teachers and the learning effect of students in that school under the guidance of cognitive learning theory,competency-based theory and the teaching theory of the recent development zone.Through the processing of questionnaire data and analysis of interview,some advantages of teaching in the course on “the control of diseases and pest in garden plant” are summarized: the school pays more attention to the curriculum,the selection of textbook content is closely related to the reality of life and the school attaches great importance to teacher training.At the same time,it also found that the main problems in the teaching of this school are as follows: insufficient class hours for practical lessons;part of the textbook are difficult;the utilization of hardware facilities is not high and some lack;teachers need to be improved,and students' learning interest is not high,etc.According to the analysis of the existing problems,the following suggestions are put forward from the three aspects of school-teacher-student: From the perspective of the school,the school needs to increase the number of practical lessons to strength the students' practical operation;take the post demand as the guidance to strengthen the school-enterprise cooperation;increase the training of master-funded teams;enrich the allocation of resources and build a good teaching environment and so on.From the perspective of teacher,teachers need to teach according to students' aptitude and select appropriate content;make rational use of teaching methods and enrich teaching methods;strengthen the interpretation of the syllabus and do a good job of teaching preparation;promote learning through competitions and revitalize curriculum teaching;meet the educational goals and improve teaching evaluation;establish a new type of teacher-student relationship.From the perspective of student,students need to clarify their learning goals and strengthen their willpower to learn;develop good learning habits.
