Magnesium is an essential metal ion for chloroplast structure.In the process of plant growth,it plays a key role in plant growth,flowering and fruit development.Rational application of magnesium in cultivated cucumber has important influence on the growth and development of cucumber plant and the improvement of fruit quality.In this experiment,dry cucumber was used as the research material.In a warm solar greenhouse in winter,different growth periods were explored by applying magnesium sulfate(concentration: 0,2.5mmol/L,5mmol/L,10mmol/L),and the optimal application technology was applied to achieve reasonable and effective magnesium supplementation so as to improve cucumber growth,development,yield and commodity.The main research contents are as follows:1.According to the application of magnesium sulfate at different growth periods,the application of magnesium sulfate at the seedling stage of 2.5mmol/L and 5mmol/L did not affect plant growth,and 10mmol/L inhibited plant growth.The application of 2.5mmol/L magnesium sulfate promoted flowering,increased yield and reduced the rate of defective products.The application of 5mmol/L magnesium sulfate at the beginning of flowering period had significant effects on promoting plant height,flowering quantity,increasing yield,reducing root melon defect rate and improving cucumber commodity quality.The comparison between magnesium application at seedling stage and magnesium application at flowering stage on yield and fruit defect rate in harvest stage shows that magnesium application at seedling stage is lower than that at flowering stage in increasing fruit yield and improving fruit commodity.Therefore,magnesium application in seedling stage is not recommended.According to the above conclusions,it is suggested that the earliest magnesium application stage is the beginning flowering stage of cucumber,and the applied concentration is 5mmol/L.2.The application of magnesium sulfate(2.5mmol/L,5mmol/L,10mmol/L)at the beginning of cucumber harvest can promote the flowering of cucumber,increase the yield of cucumber,and improve the commodity of cucumber.The application of 5mmol/L magnesium sulfate can promote flowering,reduce the rate of defective,and reduce the length of melon handle.3.Magnesium sulfate was applied in three ways: foliar spraying,root spraying,foliar spraying and root spraying at the beginning of harvest.It was concluded that 5mmol/L magnesium sulfate could significantly increase the yield,improve the fruit color and luster,and not inhibit the plant growth.4.In the beginning harvest period,5mmol/L magnesium sulfate was applied in the foliar spraying method and applied once every 9 days,which could not only increase the continuous harvest yield of cucumber,decrease the rate of defective fruits and improve the color of fruits,but also not affect the growth of plants.
