Objectives:There were Meta analysis[1-2]compared the efficacy of safflower injection with conventional treatment in patients with ACI.We updated and expanded the content on the basis of those evaluation. Methods:We made a comprenhensive search from many database, such as the CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,PubMed,Cochrane Library,CBM?from database built to October 2017?.Only randomized controlled trials?RCTs?those evaluated the efficacy and safety of safflower yellow for acute ischemic stroke were included. The method of extracting data and assessing the study quality from the Cochrane Handbook is carried out independently by two researchers. To apply Revman5.3 for statistical analysis.Results:1808 patients were included in a total of 18 cases. The quality of the included studies were medium or low.Honghua has a marked improvement of the total efficiency in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction.[RR=1.18,95%CI?1.13,1.24?,Z=7.24,P^0.00001].Safflower group significantly improved the NIHSS score([WMD=-3.43,95%CI?-5.73,-1.13?,Z=2.92,P=0.004]and the CSS score?[WMD=-4.07,95%CI?-5.21,-2.92?,Z=6.97,P^0.00001]?.There were statistical differences between the two groups.Only 5 studies reported and described the adverse reactions in detail in the treatment, but all of them recovered to normal after active treatment or withdrawal.other trials did not report any adverse. No death was reported in all the included studies during the treatment. Conclusions:Safflower injection is more effective for acute cerebral infarction patients than conventional treatment group, and doesn't have obvious poor reactions. It can be used as a safe and effective treatment for ACI.But limited by the sample and the quality of the study, more strict and higher quality and larger sample randomized controlled trials are required to provide a more scientific and convinced evidence.
