Objective:To investigate the correlation between the serum level of Vitamin A(VA)?high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP)?Procalcitonin(PCT)and the severity of the disease in acute phase of pneumonia in children, provide scientific basis for guiding clinical practice. Methods:Using prospective study method to collect 62 case of mild pneumonia?32 case of severe pneumonia and 17 case of non-infection children, who were admitte-d to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from November 2016 to August 2017,as the research objects. All of them check for serum levels of Vit-amin A?hs-CRP and PCT in the peripheral blood of the fasting veins the second day morning after admission. The levels of serum Vitamin A was determined by High Perf-ormance Liquid Chromatography method, the levels of Hs-CRP?PCT was determined by quantitative method of drying immunofluorescence.Analysis the relativity and lev-els of Vitamin A?hs-CRP and PCT in the three groups.Results:1.Comparison of age and gender among mild pneumonia group?severe pneum-onia group and non-infection group:the age of mild pneumonia group?severe pneum-onia group and non-infection group M(P25,P75)were 2.58(0.73,4.11),3.71(0.77,5.19)and 4.00(2.38,4.63),respectively,Comparing in pairs, there was no statistical differen-ce in age(P>0.05).The gender(male%,female%)of these three groups were(56.5%,43.5%),(62.5%,37.5%)and(52.9%,47.1%),respectively,there was no statistical differe-nce in gender(P>0.05).2.Comparison of serum of levels of vitamin A among mild pneumonia group?severe pneumonia group and non-infection group:the serum of levels of vitamin A of mild pneumonia group?severe pneumonia group and non-infection group were 0.28(0.22,0.33)mg/l?0.16(0.14,0.19)mg/l and 0.38(0.28,0.43)mg/l,with severe pneumonia the lowest,Comparing in pairs, respectively, there was statistical difference(P<0.05).3.Comparison of serum of levels of Hs-CRP among mild pneumonia group?severe pneumonia group and non-infection group:the serum of levels of Hs-CRP of mild pneumonia group?severe pneumonia group and non-infection group were 2.23(0.50,6.78)mg/l?39.16(21.98,67.14)mg/l?0.50(0.50,0.70)mg/l,Comparing in pairs, respectively, there was statistical difference(P<0.05).4.Comparison of serum of levels of PCT among mild pneumonia group?severe pneumonia group and non-infection group:the serum of levels of PCT of mild pneum-onia group?severe pneumonia group and non-infection group were 0.25(0.25,0.25)ng/ml?1.54(1.0,2.58)ng/ml?0.25(0.25,0.25)ng/ml.mild pneumonia group and severe pneumonia group, severe pneumonia group and non-infected group were compared, respectively, there was statistical difference(P<0.05).mild pneumonia group and non-infective group, respectively, there was no statistical difference in gender(P>0.05).5.The correlation analysis of serum of levels of vitamin A,Hs-CRP and PCT in severe pneumonia group:the serum of levels of vitamin A were negatively correlated with serum of levels of Hs-CRP(i=-0.545,P= 0.001),the serum of levels of vitamin A were also negatively correlated with the serum of levels of PCT(r=-0.606,P<0.001).6.The level of vitamin A levels in all patients,1.8%for clinical vitamin A defici-ency,27.9%for subclinical vitamin A deficiency,38.7%for suspicious subclinical prevalence, and 31.5%for normal vitamins.Conclusions:1.Different levels of vitamin A deficiency are common in acute phase of pneumonia in children.2.Vitamin A serum level of severe pneumonia group 0.16(0.14,0.19)mg/1 was significantly lower than the general pneumonia group 0.28(0.22,0.33)mg/1 and non-infection group 0.38(0.28,0.43)mg/l.3.In the acute phase of pneumonia, the Hs-CRP,and PCT were positively correl-ation with and severity of pneumonia. The higher the Hs-CRP,The higher the PCT elevated significantly and more more serious the disease was.Hs-CRP and PCT could be used as early warning indicators of severe pneumonia.
