The Research On The Extraction And Biological Functions Of The Total Saponins From Trichosanthes Kirilowii Maxim'Peel

The fundamental researches on Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim have been made in the domestic and overseas.Chemical composition of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim is complex and pharmacological effects are various.Much medicinal value of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim has not been found.In this paper,the total saponins in Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim'Peel has been selected as the starting point to research.As a medicinal material,Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim has been used in the traditional Chinese medicine.Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim is easy to be cultivated and has a wide range of the pharmacological action of Trichosanthes.Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim has good medicinal value and economic value,so we need to make a further research.In this paper,firstly we summarized the chemical composition and pharmacological effects by reviewing the literature in recent years.We found that there is little research on the total saponins of Trichosanthes kiril owii Maxim.Here,we selected the saponins of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim'peel to research,we have the responsibility to fill in this blank and provide a scientific basis for the development of pharmacological applications of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim.In the paper,we mainly carried out experiments as the following aspects : the extraction and purification of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim'Peel and the determination of the content;the experiment of total saponins of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim;The experiment on the total saponins of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim against lung cancer cells A549;The experiment on the removal of superoxide radicals and 1,1-diphenyl-2-trinitrophenylhydrazine.The results: 1.the total saponins content is2.62% in Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim;2.the average of growth inhibition rate is48.31 ± 0.79,inhibition zone is 27.7 ± 1.56 mm;3.When the total saponins is in high concentration,it will restrain the growth of A549 cells.When the concentration is at low level,the growth of the A549 cells has not been affected;4.The clearance rate of free radicals is about 80% when the total saponins at certain concentration.
