Clinical Effect Observation Of The Combination Of Acupuncture And Epalrestat On The Treatment Of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

Objective:To observe clinical effect of the combination of acupuncture and epalrestat on the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.By finding the difference of curative effect on diabetic peripheral neuropathy between the combination of acupuncture and epalrestat and epalrestat,to provide a more effective clinic treatment method for diabetic peripheral neuropathy.a course,and 2 courses were needed.Method:In this study,66 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were randomized into two groups:treatment group and control group(n=33).The combination of acupuncture and epalrestat was used in treatment group;the epalrestat was used alone in treatment group,Retaining the needles for 40 minutes.Hand-manipulating of the needles every 10 minutes.Two weeks were a course,and 2 courses were needed.clinical symptom integral table(CSIT),toronto clinical scoring system(TCSS),neuropathy disability score(NDS)and nerve conductive velocity(NCV)were curative effect observation index.Result:1.Clinical efficacy:According to the statistical analysis of Ridit,the treatment group was better than the control group in clinical efficacy.2.CSIT:The score of CSIT in the different groups was at the same baseline before the treatment.After treatment,the analysis showed that both groups could reduce the score,while the treatment group was better than the control group.3.TCSS:The TCSS score of the patients in different groups was at the same baseline before the treatment.After treatment,according to the data,both groups could reduce the TCSS score,while the treatment group was better than the control group.4.NDS:Before the treatment,the score of NDS in different groups was at the same baseline.After the treatment,according to the data,both groups could reduce the NDS score,while the treatment group was better than the control group.5.NCV:Before the treatment,the NCV in different groups was at the same baseline.After treatment,according to the data,both groups could improve the NCV,while the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusion:1.The combined application method have more notable effect in relieving the symptoms and improving the signs and the NCV.2.It is effective to treat DPN with the combination of acupuncture and epalrestat.
