Objective:To summarize the clinical characteristics of foreign bodies in pediatric gastrointestinal tract and analysis its risk factors for perforation. Methods:The clinical data of 150 cases of gastrointestinal tract foreign bodies with admitted to our hospital were analyzed retrospectively from September 2008 to September 2018.Analysis the clinical characteristics including:age, sex, treatment time, treatment status after admission, foreign body type, location, foreign body retention time and so on were retrospectively analyzed Results:Gastrointestinal tract foreign bodies in children with 150 cases,of whom 94males and 56 females;aged from 6 months to 14 years old.The most common complication of foreign bodies is metallic,plant-based and chemical foreign bodies are the next common.Foreign bodies located in the esophageal was 88 cases,15 cases in the stomach,47 cases in the gastrointestinal tract.Among the 150 cases,86 patients received endoscopic treatment, including 4 cases of perforation,64 cases of surgical treatment, including 11 cases of perforation.Perforation was set as the case group, while non-perforation was set as the control group.By usingx~2test and t test,it was concluded that there was no statistical difference between the two groups in age, gender, foreign body location and anesthesia method(P>0.05).The perforation rate of sharp foreign body, battery and multiple magnetic beads was significantly higher than that of other foreign bodies(P<0.01).By logistic regression analysis it is concluded that the occurrence of gastrointestinal tract cause perforation and the nature of the foreign body, clinical time correlation(P<0.01),and has nothing to do with age, sex, the location of foreign bodies(P>0.05),the incidence of sharp foreign body perforation is 9.914 times that of other foreign material(OR=0.974,95%CI:-0.350~0.295),more than 6 hours before in hospital is at higher risk of perforation occurred in 6 hours of 7.420 times(OR=0.162,95%CI:0.044~0.600).Conclusions:Sharp foreign bodies are the most likely to cause perforation in children's digestive tract, such as sewing machine needles, date cores, the magnetic foreign bodies and batteries also can cause perforation.Prompt medical treatment is the key to prevent digestive tract perforation and complications.Different treatment methods were adopted according to different types, different parts and clinical manifestations in digestive tract of foreign bodies.
