This thesis consists of three chapters.Reported in chapter one were the chemical constituents and their bioactivites from the plant Balanophora cryptocaulex.The plant Balanophora cryptocaulex belongs to the genus of Balanophora.The plant of genus Balanophora was widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions of Oceania and Asia,with 19 species grown in China.The whole plant has been used traditionally in folk medicine for the treatment of menoxenia,consumptive,leucorrhea and detoxifying.We studied the chemical constituents of the 90%CH3OH/H2O extract of the stems and leaves of Balanophora cryptocaulex,which was collected from Xishuangbanna Autonomous prefecture,of Yunnan Province.This research led to the isolation of 36 compounds,including 31 phenylpropanoid compounds,2 lignins.2 triterpenes and 1 glycoside.The hDHODH inhibitory,anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic activities of some compounds in vitro were evaluated,showing no significant inhibitory activity.The second chapter introduced the chemical constituents and bioactivites of the plant Nigella glandulifera.By means of separation and chromatography methods,50 compounds were isolated from plants of Balanophora cyptocaulex and Nigella glandulifera.The plant Nigella glandulifera belongs to the genus Nigella.The genus Nigella was widely distributed in Xinjiang Province and Xishuangbanna Autonomous prefecture of Yunnan Province.The whole plant has been used traditionally as Uygur and Xishuangbanna folk medicine for treatments of pain relief,diuretic and anti-helminth.We studied the chemical constituents of the 70%CH3COCH3/H2O exaction of the seeds of Nigella glandulifera,which was purchased from traditional Chinese medicinal materials market in Kunming,Yunnan Province.We isolated 14 compounds,including 6 flavonoids,3 flavonoid glycosides,3 quinones and 2 phenylpropanoids.Bioactivity study was performed on selected compounds.The in vitro hDHODH inhibitory of compound 5 showed a moderate activity with the inhibition rate of 58.8%at the concentration of 100?M.Compounds 5,7,and 8 showed a moderate NO inhibition ability,with the IC50 of 20.17?M,32.27 ?M,24.35 ?M.Compound 6 has a significant cytotoxic activity under the concentration of 100 ?M,and the cell survival rate of RAW264.7 cell line was 3.3%.In the last chapter,the chemical constituents and their bioactivites from genus Balanophora were summarized.We reviewed the phytochemical research and bioactivities on the plants of genus Balanophora,and classified the types of these compounds.As a traditional Chinese medicine,the Balanophora genus is widely distributed in China.It has a long history of medicinal use and contains a large number of secondary metabolites.The main components of the Balanophora genus are phenylpropanoids,flavonoids,and triterpenoids.and steroidals.The chemical constituents of Balanophora genus has a wide range of bioactivities,including anti-inflammation,analgesia,liver protection,anti-oxidation,anti-aging,anti-tumor,hypoglycemic,etc.It is of great significance to explore its active substances to promote the development and utilization of this genus.
