| Objective:By the clinical studies for prescription of external washing with Chinese medicine adding hemodialysis combined with hemodiafiltration in the treatment of pruritus in maintenance hemodialysis patients,to assess the efficacy and safety of the treatment objectively.The randomized controlled method was applied to the process.It can provide clinical evidence and show the therapeutic value of Chinese medicine in the treatment of complication in End Stage Renal Disease.Methods:Grading the pruritus in maintenance hemodialysis of those 64 patients in End Stage Renal Disease from Blood Purification Room in Changzhi hospital of traditional Chinese medicine in Shanxi province and Hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in Shanxi province by the score criterion of DirkR.Kuypers.Divided the patients into two groups randomly,each group had 32 patients,there was no significant difference between the two groups in age,sex,primary disease,dialysis time,dialysis method,serum total calcium,blood phosphorus,albumin and ipth before the treatment.Gived usual care to the two groups,include health education,diet,keeping the blood glucose and blood pressure under control,clear skin,wearing cotton clothing and the same dialysis method and dose.Hemodialysis 5 times two weeks and the hemodiafiltration 1 time two weeks.The treatment group was treated by particle prescription of external washing with Chinese medicine which was dissolved in warm water,3 times a week,the control group was treated by Cetirizine tablets,10 mg once a day,oral,four weeks a course.After a course of treatment,the efficacy was evaluated by the score criterion of DirkR.Kuypers,the serum total calcium,blood phosphorus,albumin and ipth results before and after treatment was recorded.Results:After four weeks treatment,there were 61 patients completed the course.One case in treat group was death due to cerebral hemorrhage,in control group one case was proceeded Homologous Donor Renal Transplantation,another case was dead because of resisting hemodialysis.Results from statistical analyses suggested that the pruritus score was dropped 7.68 in 31 cases from treat group and 3.87 in 30 cases from control group,there were 5cases achieved clinical cure goal in treat group and 2 cases in control group.There were significant differences in the pruritus score(P<0.05),the serum total calcium,blood phosphorus,albumin and ipth results before and after treatment had no statistical significant difference between treat group and control group(P>0.05).The treat group was always up to 74.2%,having remarkable effect compared with control group 33.3%(P<0.05).Conclusion:Prescription of external washing with Chinese medicine can be effective in treating pruritus in maintenance hemodialysis patients and worthy of clinical application widely. |
