An Impact Study Of Different Factors On The Efficacy Of Extracorporeal Shock Wave In The Treatment Of Ureteral Calculi

Objective:We studied the impact of several clinical variables on the efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL)for ureteral calculi.Methods: We retrospectively analyzed stone clearance rate and complications of 282 patients who were treated with ESWL in our hospital,and studied the impact of the stone site,size,patient age on the stone clearance rate.Results: The stone clearance rate of single stone was 77.3%.The stones site had no effect on the stone clearance rate(P>0.05).The young patient group is more likely to discharge stones than older group(P<0.05).The smaller stones were more likely to be discharged than the larger group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The age of patients and the size of calculi are important influencing factors of the stone clearance rate after ESWL treatment of ureteral calculi.ESWL has high clearance rate of ureteral calculi,different clinical variables affect the stone clearance rate.We should take individualized treatment of ureteral calculi...
