The Constitution Identification Of Traditional Chinese Medicine For Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo

Objective: Through the research and analysis of the collected clinical data of Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo patients,find out the distribution law of TCM constitution type,summarize the high incidence constitution of the disease,so as to provide the theoretical basis of TCM for further prevention,treatment and prognosis of Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.Methods: In this study,through cross-sectional study,we investigated the patients with Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo by clinical questionnaire,and recorded the general data and physical types of 161 patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo who met the inclusion criteria in detail.According to the age,we divided them into three groups:20-39 years old,40-59 years old and 60-80 years old,and established the data by using office software Excel Database,through the statistical software SPSS21.0 for statistical analysis of the data,so as to draw conclusions.Results:1.Among the 161 BPPV patients collected in this study,55 were male patients,accounting for 34.16% of the total sample;106 were female patients,accounting for 65.84%of the total sample;the ratio of male to female was about 1:1.93.Chi square test showed that the incidence rate of female was more than that of male(P<0.05).2.The age range of the cases included in this study is between 20-80 years old,with an average age of(51.45 ± 13.344)years.There are 33 cases aged 20-39,78 cases aged 40-59,and 50 cases aged 60-80,respectively accounting for 20.5%,48.45% and 31.05% of the total.After chi square test,the incidence rate of 40-59 years old age group was higher(P<0.05).3.In the affected semicircular canal,the posterior semicircular canal is 118(19.88%),the anterior semicircular canal is 2(1.24%),the horizontal semicircular canal is 32(19.88%),and the mixed semicircular canal is 9(5.59%).4.The distribution order of constitution types in TCM were Qi deficiency in 37 cases(23%)> phlegm dampness in 35 cases(21.7%)> qi stagnation in 21 cases(13%)> Blood Stasis in 20 cases(12.4%)> Yin deficiency in 18 cases(11.2%)> Yang deficiency in 17cases(10.6%)> damp heat in 8 cases(5%)> peace in 4 cases(2.5%)> idiosyncrasy in 1case(0.6%).5.The distribution of qi deficiency in female was higher than that in male(P < 0.05),while the distribution of phlegm dampness and damp heat in male was higher than that in female(P < 0.05).6.The peacefulness is more common in the age group of 20-39 years old,the Qi deficiency and yang deficiency are more common in the age group of 60-80 years old,and the phlegm dampness is more common in the age group of 40-59 years old.Conclusion: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is most common in women,with a high incidence of 40-59 years old.Among the involved semicircular canals,the posterior is the most,followed by the horizontal,the mixed and the anterior semicircular canals.The high incidence constitution types of this disease are Qi deficiency and phlegm dampness.What is more,There are some differences between the distribution of constitution types and the gender of patients,and the distribution of constitution type is also related to the age of patients.
