Objective: In this study, scalp acupuncture combined with acupoint catgut embedding was used to treat intractable hiccup after stroke.By comprehensively analyzing the changes of hiccup symptom score and quality of life score, onset time and total effective rate before and after treatment, and comparing the clinical efficacy of scalp acupuncture with acupoint catgut embedding and conventional acupuncture treatment, the aim is to further verify the clinical efficacy of scalp acupuncture combined with acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of intractable hiccup after stroke, and to provide the basis for the treatment of this disease by scalp acupuncture combined with acupoint catgut embedding. Methods: According to the relevant diagnostic, inclusion and exclusion criteria of this study,60 patients with intractable hiccups after stroke who were treated in the Acupuncture Department of Heilongjiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from October 2018 to October 2019 were divided into observation group and control group,30 cases each. The observation group was treated with scalp acupuncture combined with acupoint catgut embedding, while the control group was treated with conventional acupuncture. Each course of treatment lasts for one week, with a total of two courses of treatment. After the end of treatment, hiccup symptom score, quality of life score, onset time and total effective rate of the two groups of patients were analyzed statistically, and the results were obtained. Results: 1.Comparison of the scores of hiccup symptoms between the two groups: the scores of hiccup symptom after treatment in the observation group were 2.30±2.58,and that in another group were 4.00±3.18.There was statistically significant of the difference of the two groups(P < 0.05),indicating that the improvement degree of hiccup symptoms in the observation group was better than that in the control group.2.Comparisons of quality of life scores between the two groups: after treatment, the scores of diet, mental status and sleep in the observation group were 4.07±0.91,3.87±0.78,3.73±1.02,and those in another group were 3.57±0.90,2.97±0.77,3.10±1.19,respectively.After treatment, the scores of diet, mental status and sleep in the two groups were compared between groups. There were statistically significant of the differences(all P < 0.05),indicating that the observation group improved the diet, mental status and sleep of the patients better than the control group.3.Comparing the onset time of two groups of patients: the efficiency of observation group was 50% from 1 day of treatment, and that of control group was 26.7%.By statistical analysis, there was statistically significant of the difference(P < 0.05),which indicated that the observation group was earlier than the control group in the onset time.4.Comparison of the overall efficacy of the two groups of patients: after the end of treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 86.7%,and that of the control group was 66.7%.Through statistical analysis, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).It indicated that the overall efficacy of the observation group was superior to that of the control group. Conclusions: 1.Both scalp acupuncture combined with acupoint catgut embedding and conventional acupuncture have curative effects on intractable hiccup after stroke, but the total effective rate of scalp acupuncture combined with acupoint catgut embedding is better than that of conventional acupuncture.2.The clinical effect of scalp acupuncture combined with acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of intractable hiccup after stroke is better than that of conventional acupuncture in hiccup symptoms and quality of life.
