Clinical Observation Of Treating Insomnia Due To Liver Depression Transforming Into Fire Pattern Through The Siguan Acupoints Cured By Acupoint Catgut-embedding Therapy And Other Points Cured By Traditional Acupuncture

Objective: To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of Siguan points catgut-embedding and other classical points cured by traditional acupuncture aiming at insomnia of liver depression transforming into fire pattern so as to provide a new effetive method in regard to the treatment of this type of insomnia clinically.Methods: Sixty patients of insomnia of liver depression transforming into fire pattern were randomly divided into a treatment group(30 cases)and control group(30 cases).In the control group,the simple traditional acupuncture was adopted once every day.In the treatment group,the acupoint catgut-embedding therapy was applied to the Siguan acupoints once every ten days.At the same time,other points were the same with the control group.And one duration of treatment was one month.In addition,both of them were treated for one duration.The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndromes scale and pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)scale were used to assess the clinical efficacy of the two groups by corresponding statistical analysis.Results: 1.Before the treatment,there was no significant difference statistically about the total scores of the PSQI scale or TCM syndromes scale between the two groups(P>0.05).After one course of treatment,the scores of each scale for the two groups were lower than those before treatment as for the comparison within a group;the difference was statistically significant for the former scale(P<0.05),and the difference was extremely significant for the latter(P<0.001).2.In reference to clinical effects,the statistical analysis results indicated that the total effective rate of the treatment group was 86.7% and that of the control group was 73.3%.In the meanwhile,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.About treating insomnia of liver depression transforming into fire pattern,both Siguan acupoint catgut-embedding method combined with other classical points cured by traditional acupuncture and simpletraditional acupuncture therapy can reduce scores of the TCM syndromes scale and PSQI scale.2.It was more effective than simple traditional acupuncture therapy for Siguan acupoint catgut-embedding method combined with other classical points cured by traditional acupuncture on treating insomnia of liver depression transforming into fire pattern,in terms of improving the clinical efficacy,sleep quality and TCM syndromes.3.Siguan acupoint catgut-embedding therapy combined with other classical points cured by traditional acupuncture worked well with regard to treating insomnia of liver depression transforming into fire pattern.
