Background: With the increasing incidence of infertility in recent years, the number of couples choosing assisted reproduction has increased. Many studies have reported that psychological state and reproductive function are closely related. Therefore, many related studies on the psychological and emotional state of infertility patients have been carried out at home and abroad.Reproduction is a biological process completed by both couples.Whether male and female fertility stress and their influencing factors can affect each other, there have been no reports in domestic and foreign studies. Therefore,it is necessary to study the influencing factors and their interactions on fertility stress between couples. Objective: To investigate the status of fertility stress of infertile couples in Shiyan City and surrounding areas, and to research the various influencing factors of fertility stress of couples,to explore the interaction of fertility stress and influencing factors of infertile couples, which would provide a theoretical basis for developing nursing interventions and improving the couples psychological state. Methods:This study is a descriptive study.using a convenient sampling method to conduct a cross-sectional survey.Instruments include the General Information questionnaire,Fertility Problem Inventory(FPI),Chinese Mandarin version of the Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey(MOS-SSS),and Medical Coping Models Questionnaire(MCMQ).A questionnaire survey was conducted on 624 people(312 couples)who treated at a reproductive medicine center of a top three hospital in Shiyan City, and 560(280 pairs)questionnaires were effectively recovered.SPSS25.0 and Amos25.0 software were used to organize and analyze the data.Statistical methods include t-test,ANVOA,correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, and structural equation modeling.Results:(1)In this study, the average age of 280 couples was(32.31±5.02)years;61.43% of them are living in urban areas;26.43% of them have collegeeducation or above;47.50% of couples' family monthly income is more than7,000 yuan; The proportion of primary infertility is 52.50%;the cause of infertility is mainly female factors, accounting for 78.60%;the age of infertility is(3.53±2.68)years.(2)The average FPI score of 560 people was(162.69±19.56).The FPI scores of male and female had statistically significant differences in parental role needs and sexual stress(P(27)0.05).There were statistically significant differences in fertility stress between male and female in different occupations and different treatment times.Patients with the highest treatment stress were treated for 3 to 5 years.(3)There was no significant difference in the total social support scores and scores of each dimension between the male and female. There were statistically significant differences in the total scores of coping models, facing, avoiding, and yielding three-dimensional scores between men and women.(4)The correlation analysis results showed that the total social support scores and scores of all dimensions of the man and the woman were positively correlated(P(27)0.05);the FPI scores of the man and the woman were negatively correlated with the total social support score of their own and the other(P(27)0.05);The FPI scores of the men and the women are negatively correlated with the faceted dimensions in their coping models, and positively correlated with the avoidance and yielding dimensions(p(27)0.05).(5)The results of linear regression analysis showed that after controlling for the basic variables, the social support scores, the coping models(facing and yielding dimensions)in both men and women can predict their respective fertility stress and the social support of each other can also negatively affect their fertility stress.(6)Structural equation model analysis shows that the factor loading coefficient is significant between the woman's social support and fertility stress,it is also significant between the woman's coping models(facing and yielding dimensions)and fertility stress;the factor loading coefficient is significant between the man's social support and fertility stress,it is alsosignificant between the man's coping models(facing, avoiding and yielding dimensions)and fertility stress.the factor loading coefficients were significant between the social support and the fertility stress in both men and women,it is also significant between the other's social support and their own fertility stress. Conclusion:Infertile couples have higher fertility stress, and the fertility stress of women is higher than that of men. Both spouses' social support and ways of coping with disease can predict their own reproductive stress. The social support of both husbands and wives can predict the fertility stress of the other side in addition to their own fertility stress.
