Creativity is a part of intelligence,which includs creative thinking and creative per sonality.Creative thinking includes fluency,ingenuity and imagination,the most represen tative part is imagination.People with creative personality can produce spontaneous cre ativity to solve problems.Creative personality contains many traits,curiosity is the most representative.Early childhood is the initial stage in the development of creativity.As t he growth of the age,creativity improves gradually.Utill five-years-old,the capability of creativity falls.Many factors have influence on creativity.Currently,the research on in teraction effect is popular.Among them,two typical factors which exists interaction effe ct are situation of choice,which contains free choice and unfree choice,and number of alternatives,which contains more and less.The study adopts classic experimental para digms to investigate how situation of choice and number of alternatives operate on cre ativity,which provides a guidance and has vital theoretical and practical significance.This study combines the test and experimental method,120 5-year-old children ar e participated.First,children's curiosity and imagination are tested.Second,it uses 2×2 experimental design.There are four levels: free choice with more alternatives,fre e choice with less alternatives,unfree choice with more alternatives,unfree choice wit h less alternatives.Each group contains 30 children.Matching method is used in arrang ing subjects to make sure that 4 groups are coincident before experiments.Then,the study is executed by exploratory experiment and imagination task.Research results show that:(1)There is significant difference in children' creativity between free choice and unfree choice.Free choice is better than unfree choice.(2)There is significant difference in children'creativity between less alternative and more alternative.Less alternative is obvious better than more alternative.(3)When children have less alternative,they show more creativity in free choice;Meanwhile,when children have more alternative,they show more creativity in unfree choice.(4)No matter in which situation of choice,children show more creativity in less alternative than in more.The difference in free choice is more obvious.
