A Study On Creative Personality

Based on deeply analyzing the outcome of the former studies on creative personality and deeply understanding creativity and creative personality, this study attempts to build a creative personality model which is an ideal model and the goal for middle school students, and design a Creative Personality Scale for Middle School Students.There are two main steps in this study. First, the researcher used interviews and questionnaires to study the creative personality and the subjects were 123 creative adults who have gained creative achievements in natural science. Second, according to the result of the first step, the researcher designed a Creative Personality Scale for Middle School Students by pre-test and re-test. And it compared the results in Creative Personality Scale for Middle School Students of different sexes, different grades and different schools. Then, the characteristics of creative personality between adults and middle school students were also compared.Results show that: 1) The creative personality in natural science are mainly composed of five factors: openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, extraversion and neuroticism. Adults' and middle school students' creativepersonality structures are consistent in essence, but middle school students' creative personality is not as good as that of creative adults. 2) There is sex difference between male and female students in Creative Personality Scale for Middle School Students. Male students display well than female students. Significant grade difference and school difference are not found. 3) The reliability and validity of Creative Personality Scale for Middle School is satisfactory.
