Under the influence of the promotion of economic globalization,the effects of culture in polity,economy and life have emerged clearly.While the conflict and mix of the multiplex national culture are upgrading,the unbalance and diversity of culture appears,every national culture will face the challenge of the penetration and impact of other cultures eventually.Being confronted with it,any culture is left with no other choice but to rethink its self-development.The Western Hunan culture,as a type of regional minority culture,is also facing the self-consciousness problem of adapting and transforming.Self-consciousness,a new theory concept,whose proposition is based on culture transformation which is aiming at dealing with coming into the information society and the subsequent rapid changes for minority culture at home,not only can improve people's autognosis,but also has profoundly practiocal intention and meaning.The Western Hunan culture is a minority culture which originated from the Tujia Minority and the Miao Minority autonomous prefecture of Western Hunan,this shows both its regionality and nationality.The factors of its formation include geography factor,nationality factor,history factor and event factor.The Western Hunan culture,as a regional minority culture,has three major characters: strong and intense nationality-conciousness,witchcraft-affected and self-improvement.Besides,the history of the development of the Western Hunan culture is connected closely with the history of the development of Western Hunan.In other words,the procedure of the development of the Western Hunan history is the procedure of the self-conciousness of the Western Hunan culture.Its developments and improvements show the self-consciousness of the combination of ethnic language and official language in language,local culture combined with modern culture in behavior,and the simple nature combined with modern fashion in entertainment.The self-conciousness,self-examination and self-support of the Western Hunan culture prove not only its self-conciousness as a type of regional minority culture,its huge effective guidance as a theory during the development and advancement in minority culture.The self-conciousness of Western Hunan culture will need the direction of the theory of self-conciousness as well as to put the theory into practice which willshow its attitude of self-conciousness and taking-esponsiblity intiatively.Under the premise of analysis and astudy of the its formation,characters,facing the crisis,and in the process of cultural consciousness of cultural consciousness things,to develop and inherit Western Hunan culture,it is necessary to build up the new Western Hunan culture,it is necessary to build up its own paths of its self-conciousness :self-examination-to recognize Western Hunan culture;objective supporttopositive inheritance Western Hunan culture;Continuous innovation-building a new Western Hunan culture.To improve the quality of Western Hunan culture and achieve a stage of prosperous,the priority should be keeping its self-conciousness alertly.It is not only the requirement of world culture globalization but also the need of the development of Western Hunan culture that to build up a higher quality of Western Hunan culture and let Western Hunan culture merge into Chinese culture and world culture which will definitely contribute to the power of Chinese culture,this should be based on the vision of self-conciousness.
