A Comparative Study On Narrative Fable "Zhan Guoce" And "Han Feizi"

In this paper,we will compare the fables of the Zhan Guoce and Han Feizi,respectively from the narrator,narrative perspective,narrative methods,narrative structures and narrative tendencies.First,the Zhan Guoce is created by a group of advisers which is of historical recording while the Han Feizi is written by himself or borrowed from others.Because of the differences such as the living background and personality of the writers,Zhan Guoce fables become the main lobby of passive selection,and Han Feizi fables are a result of Han feizi's serious and calm usage.Second,because of the different narrative scenarios and narrators,the narrative perspective of the Zhan Guoce and Han Feizi fable isdifferent.One is secular and the other is elegance.Of course,the secular and the elegance of this point are relative,not absolute.Third,their narrative purposes are around the"lobbying" and "reasoning".The Zhan Guoce fables insinuate through advisers' storytelling and narrative scenarios and the Han Feizi Fables use different narrative methods such ascomparison,flashbacks,etc..Fourth,the Zhan Guoce is of two dimensions while the Han Feizi,is of three-dimensional.The narrative structures of the Zhan Guoce are mainly dividedinto relations of continuation and transformation.The three dimensions of the Han Feizifables are mainly reflected in the multi-layered structures of the individual elements of the interior fable,the diversified construction structures of "Classic" and the series structures of the fable which is centered with concepts.The spatial structures of the Zhan Guoce fables are supported by the rational structures which put the monarch as the main part and center the law.Finally,the narrative tendencies and the ideological tendencies of the two works are consistent.The Zhan Guoce worships interests and wisdom while the Han Feizi combinesthe law,skills and the force together.That is the different inner sprits of these two books,namely the difference of "rebel against orthodoxy "and" Confucianism and Taoism inside".
