Taoism In Tang Dynasty And The Upper Class Of Society

In the Tang Dynasty Jinxian,Yuzhen two princesses accorded with Daoism,it can be described as a grand thing.So far,however,the research on the subject of fine and micro research is still rare in the academic world.In view of this,this paper based on the previous studies,absorbing the results of previous studies and trying to taking the cases of Jinxian,Yuzhen two princesses.Starting from the interactive relationship of Taoism in Tang Dynasty and the upper classes of society,it highlights the important position of Taoism in the Tang Dynasty from the interactive relationship between Taoism and the upper classes of Tang Dynasty society,which investigates the relation of Taoism in Tang Dynasty and the politics,economic,culture and social life.The introduction part mainly introduces the significance and value of this paper,the previous research results and research methods,etc.The first part outlines the background of the development of Taoism in Tang Dynasty.First of all,from the beginning of the founding of the state to establish the strategy of governing the country,the majority of the Tang Dynasty rulers respected Taoism.Taoism rose to the status of the state religion similar.Secondly,the Tang Dynasty has an enlightened autocracy,the Confucianism,Buddhism,Daoism developed equally.By debating on the hall,Taoism subsequently secular influence to the daily life of the general public.Thirdly,because of the Taoism unique doctrine purpose,the phenomenon of female Taoist meet the eye everywhere.It constituted a beautiful scenery line in Taoism,which also had an impact on the two princesses.The second part,with the method of history of historical data to be analysis and research,constructs Jinxian and Yuzhen two princesses' biography and social life picture,especially restore two princesses' outlook on life,the circumstances.On the one hand,research Princess Jinxian date of birth and death,joined by talisman of the time and her teacher,and points out that the princess is the name of the origin and the significance;on the other hand,riches or corrects some knowledge about the Princess Yuzhen,making Princess Yuzhen's life more rich and complete.The third part,researches process of two Princesses joined Taoism in detail,analyses the reasons and characteristics.Objectively,this event relates with national religious policy,dispute of Buddhism and Taoism,women joinded Taosim,the level of economic development,development status of Taoism and customs,etc.Subjectively,it is relative with understanding of Taoism,their life experience,taking the initiative to ask for joined Taoism and seeking to live in freedom and other factors.This part also focuses on the two princesses which have a significant impact on the subsequent Taoism in Tang Dynasty mainly embodies two aspects:from the point of view,causes other numberal women joined Taoism by the two princesses,forming large groups of nuns.The other one is from the qualitative perspective,to promote the further prosperity and development of Taoism,Taoism eventually developes to the peak stage.The fourth part,the events of two princesses joined Taoism can be described as a grand thing,and therefore this part focuses on the response of all kinds of classes.In upper classes of society different classes have different views,firstly the Royal class support,mainly reflected in selecting the tutor,rewarding and formally constructing Taoist temples for two princesses and so on.Secondly,Taoist priests hold warmly welcome.Thirdly,bureaucratic groups' views are complex,on the one hand,supporters hold a favorable attitude;on the other hand,the opposition strongly opposes extravagance and waste.The last one,the community of scribes holds positive attitude,many literati contect with the two princesses,they also write some relevant poetry,even someone gains accomplishment by the help of the two princesses.The fifth part,this part is the core part of the thesis,through the event,dynamicly investigats the interaction between Taoism and the upper classes of the Tang Dynasty,the purpose is to emphasize the impact of Taoism on the upper classes of society.Firstly,based on the maintenance of political power and consolidation of politics,the Tang imperial family chose to respect Taoism,the Taoist priests,which is reflected in the strong utilitarian ideology.Secondly,wanted to rely on imperial power,Taoism takes the upper route to prosperity preaching of taoism.Thirdly,in the views of upper people,Taoism religious can not only attain immortality,but also can cure health,mental adjustment.Besides,the scholars can also get shortcut,through the Taoism belief,in some misfortune,with Taoism power to ward off in Ecuador.
