Study On The Structure And Technology Of Dragon Kiln From Tang Dynasty To Yuan Dynasty In Jingdezhen

As the world's ceramic production center,the evolution of ceramics kilns in Jingdezhen plays a decisive role in the development of the porcelain industry.In the period from Tang Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty which is the early stage of the ceramic industry of Jingdezhen,the region's main form of furnaces are dragon kilns.This paper focuses on the investigation and in-depth study of the evolution of the structure and technology of dragon kilns from Tang Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty in the region of Jingdezhen.From Tang Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty,different from the development direction of dragon kilns in other areas in southern China which features the area of Zhejiang,on the basis of flat flame dragon kiln,combining the characteristics of specialization ceramics in Jingdezhen kilns and the products which it produced,Jingdezhen kilns experienced useful exploration and improvement in the fire chamber,kiln chamber,cast firewood holes and the rear part of the kilns and other structures,finally it evolved to a unique kind of gourd kiln.The progress of the diversification and specialization of shapes of kiln containers and loaded firing process effectively improved the product quality and productivity of dragon kiln in Jingdezhen.By temperature experiments and study on dragon kiln firing technology,we can see that the ancient kiln workers in Jingdezhen has reached a proficient level in the control of the dragon kiln technology.
