The Charm Of Unreliable Narrator

The concept of unreliable narrator comes from narratology,an important proposition in the study of narrative theory,and is now increasingly concerned with the study of film narration.As a narrative phenomenon,unreliable narrator in the specific works are widespread,especially in suspense for the narrative focus of the suspense film,the narrator's words and deeds of the deviation of the work often lead to suspense.Therefore,from the perspective of narratology,the suspense effect of unreliable narrator in suspense films is a question worth exploring.Based on the theoretical concept of unreliable narrator in narratology and the theory of suspense in the narrative,this paper analyzes the unreliable narrator phenomenon in the suspense film and helps to discover and summarize this special narrative strategy.The great utility of the construction,and the use of theoretical analysis of functional interpretation of auxiliary practice creation.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter,"the concept of unreliable narrator" is the logical starting point of the thesis,summarizes the theory of unreliable narration in narratology,and defines the concept of unreliable narrator in the film,combined with the narrative characteristics of the film.The second chapter is the focus of the whole thesis,based on the mechanism of suspense,in the suspense film analysis of unreliable narrator how to cover the information,misleading and indicating the role of suspense.In the third chapter,the unreliable narrator in the suspense film summarizes the effect of suspense on the irony effect,the sublimation of emotion and the possibility of multiple interpretation.The fourth chapter discusses the relationship between the original script and the unreliable narrator,and combines with the concrete creation to reflect on the tactical application of the unreliable narrator in the suspense film.
