First Exploration On Xunzi's Musical Politics View

Xunzi,as a master of Confucianism in the late period of Warring States,embodies the unique concept of governing the country.The studies of Xunzi's thought mostly stay in his controversial theory of evil humanity,and few scholars have studied the musical thoughts of Xunzi.Based on the theory of "Musical Theory" of Xunzi,this paper puts forward the concept of "Musical Politics" from Xunzi's musical and political thought,and sums up the unique Musical Politics View of Xunzi from the function of musical education,and musical harmony,And then draws the practical significance of the Musical Politics View.This paper is divided into five parts,including the introduction and four chapters.The first part is the introduction,mainly to clear the purpose and meanings of the topic,put forward the concept of "Musical Politics" and elaborate it,and find the innovation of this paper via summarizing relevant literature review from domestic,East Asia and other areas;The second part expounds the ideological foundation of Xunzi's Musical Politics View,and points out that Xunzi's Musical Politics View comes from his View of Heaven and Man,the Theory of Human Nature and Pan-politicalism,in order to lay a foundation for the Musical Politics View's connotation and function;the third part is the main body of the article,Based on the characteristics of music,Discussing the specific political use of music from the harmony in beauty and good,musical education and musical harmony;The fourth part is the deepening of the article,comparing Xunzi's Musical Politics View with Confucius and Mozi,in order to show the uniqueness of Xunzi's Musical Politics View;The last part summarizes the contemporary significance of Xunzi's Musical Politics View,and makes an objective criticism from the artistic perspective of music.
