This is an interpreting practice report,which mainly focused on an interpreting task in class.Cultural exchange,as a major form of cooperation and communication among countries,has played a leading role in international relationship.Since China has joined the WTO,its economic power has promoted greatly.Therefore,we have paid considerable attention to the implementation of “culture going out” strategy as well as mutual learning with other countries.Obviously,Chinese culture has undoubtedly become popular among more and more foreigners who are willing to learn Chinese culture.However,it's high time to promote and enrich the Chinese culture.While in recent years,President Xi Jinping's speeches have fascinated many passionate interpreting learners and Xi's speeches are regarded as the most valuable materials for not only national leaders but also for common people.In this practice,President Xi's speech at the USECO in 2014 was selected as the source text,hoping that through this practice,the interpreter can learn some expressions and improve interpreting ability.This interpreting report consists of several parts which include preparation,processing description,case analysis,self evaluation and conclusion,and some coping strategies towards problems have been put forth.However,as one of the types of interpreting,conference interpreting has been frequently used in large conferences,and interpreters should be aware of the characteristics of speech context,and use acceptable interpreting strategies.This practice report is a task of consecutive interpretation,which was divided into four chapters:chapter 1 is task description,the interpreter collected some relevant background information and chose appropriate parallel contexts;chapter 2 is interpreting process,which includes preparation,interpreting process,self evaluation,and peer-evaluation.Chapter 3 is case analysis,as the most important part of this interpreting report,the interpreter selected typical examples which are used the methods of literal translation,domestication,foreignization and division.In this part,difficulties and coping strategies were given based on this task.At the end of the interpreting report,the interpreter made a conclusion on this interpreting task,confirmed that through the interpreters' efforts,she has made progress and yielded good results.However,there are still unsolved problems existing,thus the author has put forward some solutions on interpreting learning and practice.
