A Report On E-C Translation Of The Gathering Storm(chapter 31-32)

In order to commemorate Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War,the Chinese Government held the commemoration of the 70^thh anniversary on Sept3^rd,2015.We all know that this war was a decisive battle between justice and evil,between light and darkness.Seventy years ago,the Chinese people,having fought tenaciously for 14 years,won the great victory of their War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,making the full victory of the World Anti-Fascist War.The essay based on Churchill's World War II Memoir,which was entrusted by Xi'an Barton Ivan Culture Communication Limited Company.The author took part in the project and translated Chapter 31-32.After translation,the author made a description to the process.By translating Churchill's World War II Memoir,we will have a better understanding to the World War II.War is like a mirror.Looking at it helps us better appreciate the value of peace and bear the history in mind.The report contains three steps altogether:before translation,translation process and after translation.This paper analyzed the characteristics of words,text style and writing style of Churchill's original text,and summarized the translation theories and strategies that should be used in translation.According to the problems encountered in the process of translation,the author summarized the following translation techniques and methods:the use of passive voice,translation and translation,as well as literal translation and free translation,and give a large number of examples to illustrate them.In addition to the feelings of the real translation project,the author also made a deep thought to the problems encountered in the translation process.
