The Southwestern Frontier Of The Late Qing Dynasty(1894-1903) In The Eves Of Others

In the late Qing dynasty,the hard mass gun of the west opened China,and the western people came to China to work,travel,preach,adventure and other activities.In this process,they used words and photos,leaving a lot of information about the Chinese humanistic geography and social customs in the late Qing dynasty.Nowadays,these data also become the precious historical materials of the society in late Qing dynasty.representatives of traveling to China,Morrison and Geil have recorded various information on their travels with their own eyes and perspectives.This article is divided into six chapters,the first chapter is the background of the modern foreigners coming to China,which will be discussed from the signing of unequal treaties,Yunnan Customs,Yunnan charm,Morrison and Geil.The second chapter introduces the southwest politics in the "Others eyes",mainly introduces government officials,prisons and penalties.The third chapter introduces the southwest frontier military in the eyes of "others",this part mainly discusses the production of military weapons and soldiers' weaponry,soldiers'training and military quality,and the border military defense of Yunnan in the eyes of"others."The fourth chapter discusses the southwest frontier culture in the eyes of "others",focusing on the sacrificial culture and the archway culture.The fifth chapter describes the foreigners' view on preach,missionaries and preach in the eyes of " others" mainly from the in background of Morrison and Gall of foreigners s in the south west,and foreign missionaries and preach in the eyes of others';The sixth chapter discusses the similarities and differences of their travel notes from the similarities and differences between Morrison and Geil.Therefore,this paper attempts to analyze the travel content of their two people to explore the image of the southwest frontier in the late Qing dynasty in the eyes of "others ".At the same time,some domestic historical materials are used to analyze,and analyze the differences between the southwest frontier of the late Qing Dynasty and the southwest frontier in the late Qing Dynasty,so as to gain a deeper understanding of the southwest frontier in the late Qing Dynasty.
