A Study Of Differences Characters On Unearthed Documents From Qi And Chu In The Warring States

With the development ofthe archaeological work,more and more literal materials of the Warring States had been excavated and announced,the study of Warring States characters also became a hot topic,and achieved fruitful results,especially the Qin State and Chu State.Relative to the literal materials of Qin and Chu Qi's is poor,so the study of Qi's characterslags behind.Taking a wide view of the academic research of the Warring States character,mainly focuses on studying its regionl study and periodical division,but studying the characters between the regionl in the Warring States is less.Therefore,this paper tries to study the system of Chu characters and the system of Qi characters,to investigate the difference from them,and learn more the phenomenon which is relate to the diversity structurs of the Warring States characters."Words with diversity structurs" said by Xu Shen,mainly presented different in word-making and word-using in the Warring States period.The paper is based on the comparative study between Qi's characters and Chu's characters,find out the words differences belong to Qi and Chu through word-making and word-using.The word-using differences of Qi&Chu could depart into 3 categories:Original Word different from Borrowed Words,the difference of Variant Characters,Ancient Characters different from Modern Characters;The word-making differences of Qi&Chu could depart into 4 categories: the difference of Bearing Meaning Property,Adding Bearing Meaning Property,AddingDecoration Property,Erroneous Transformation of Decoration Property.In addition to illustrate the phenomenon about differences of word-making and word-using of the Qi&Chu by examples,alsoanalyse the reasons for their differences as far as possible.,and through the characters itself development rules and social influence to analyse.
