Translation Report Of The Chapter Of ? The Sovereignty Of Law

This is a translation report according to Chap.3(The Rule of Law: Freedom,Law and Justice)of The Sovereignty of law by the professor of Cambridge University T.R.S.Allan.In this chapter,based on the theory of F.A.Hayek and A.V.Dicey,the author has gone further in the rule of law,disclosing the relationship between law and freedom and explaining the exercise of administrative discretion.In this report,I have analyzed and concluded the translation strategies I have applied and examples have been given to illustrate the details.As for the word,I have analyzed it from three aspects: word selection,addition or deletion and conversion of part of speech.As for the sentence,I have analyzed it from two aspects: long sentence and passive sentence.Based on the analysis of translation strategies in legal works,I have concluded the translation principles we have to master in the translation of legal works.In the background of the rule of law in China,introducing more excellent foreign legal works has great value to further implement the rule of law.Through this report,the author expects to make a modest contribution to the translation practice and research and play an active role in the wide spread of foreign legal works in China.
