Translation Report On A Construction Text From The Perspective Of Cartford's Translation Shifts Theory

With an all-dimensional,multitiered and wide-ranging opening pattern having been established in China,the communications between China and the outside world can be manifestated in all walks of life.Communications have become increasingly frequent in many fields including politics,economy,techological innovation,macro fields and professional aspects.Against this backdrop,Chinese foreign translation courses have also been booming,especially in some professional fields.This translation report is based on a construction text translation with a total word number of 10,355 for People's Decoration Company in Xiangyang,Hubei Province.And this is a Chinese-English translation.Being an informative text,this report contains many technical terms with distinctive local features.The author of this thesis should convey its original information faithfully without any omisssions or mistranslations in order that the target readers can clearly understand the translation.In accordance with the mentioned above requirements,the author has comleted this translation work.By analyzing the process of translation,the report discusses the difficulties and problems encountered in the translation process in order to achieve the best translation and meet the expectations of readers.The report is divided into four chapters: “Description of the Translation Task”,“Description of the Translation Process”,“Case Analysis” and “Summary”.
