Qingjiaozazhu and Jiaotaiyun are two important rhyme books in the late Ming Dynasty which reflect the pronunciation at that time.In the past, most scholars simply summed up their phonetic system. There is no systematic study of the evolution of the initial consonant system. This article re-examines the basic situation of the two rhyme books, and carefully descripe their initial consonant system. On this basis,we make a comparison with Song rhyming dictionary in the middle ancient times, tracing the origin of the two initial consonant systems, specifically discussing the differences within two initial consonant systems.Through the study and comparison of the initial consonant systems of the rhyme books, using existing research results,we hope that reasonably explan the causes and processes of phonetic evolution, and further understand the development of the initial consonant system in the late Ming Dynasty.
