| This translation project is based on the translation practice of The Trump Card:Playing to Win in Work and Life authored by Ivanka Trump,the first daughter of the United States.Up to now,this is no Chinese edition of this book in mainland China.The author of this report translates the Introduction,Chapter One and Chapter Two of this book.This report is produced on the author's translation practice.Translation of style has been a hot topic in translation study both at home and abroad.The author considers that reproducing the style of the source text in the target text can contribute to target readers' understanding of the information that contained in the writer's language style.Liu Miqing introduces Markedness Theory from linguistic study to translation of style in literary works and puts forward Stylistic Marker Theory which is composed of markable style elements and non-markable style elements.According to Liu,translators should focus on identifying style markers in the source text and reproducing them in the target text.In this way,the style adaptability between the source text and target text can be achieved and the content and form of the source text could be reproduced appropriately in the target text.It has been proved that Stylistic Marker Theory has instructive meaning in style reproduction. |
