After the outbreak of the French Revolution, revolutionary elites had rebuilt society with the huge positive emotions like expectation or delight. After the establishment of National Assembly, the great effect due to promulgation and implementation of these ordinances enhanced revolutionary elites' positive emotions. When the first anniversary of the Tennis Court Oath came, under the control of the positive emotions, there were so many celebrations supported by the revolutionary elites around the nation,in which the atmosphere was joyful and free. But when the people held a petition at the Champ-de-Mars on 17 July.1791,they ordered to repress the mass movement, and escalated the violence. It was the first violent suppression ordered by the revolutionary elites to the people since the explosion of the revolution. At that time, their emotions had changed from positive to negative. In terms of the emotional history research, based on the”Emotional Communities“theory proposed by Babara Rosenwein, this paper regarded the revolutionary leaders as an emotional communities, analyzes the revolutionary elites' emotional changes from the outbreak of the French Revolution to the Champ-de-Mars Massacre on the whole, and enterprises reasons of the emotional changes.Generally, after the outbreak of the French Revolution, the revolutionary elite communities showed the characteristic that the positive and negative emotions were intertwined mutually. In order to rebuilt the society after revolution,The National Assembly promulgated and implemented a serious of ordinances, and would formulate the constitution. At that time, the revolutionary state was becoming stable, and the emotion of the revolutionary elites communities was mainly positive. With the problems between the process of rebuilding were getting serious, their negative emotions rose sharply. The King' Flight made their negative emotion reach its peak. The flight of Louis XVI's from Paris irritated the people so that they proposed the abolition of the king and establishment of the republic. They held petition ceremony at the Champ-de-Mars.Meanwhile,the revolutionary elites communities stuck to keeping the king.Under the domination of the negative emotions, that the revolutionary elites ordered to repress the mass movement, and escalated the violence.By studying the changes of emotions of revolutionary elite communities in the early periods of the revolution,we hope to prove that the emotions of the revolutionary elite communities are not inherent and immutable. The changes of emotions of the revolutionary elite plays an important role in the development of the revolution.
