A Study On The Selection Of Literary Works In Textbooks Of The Advanced Comprehensive Course

There are different opinions about if the textbook of Comprehensive Chinese course should select literary works.Many scholars have opposed the selection of literary works,but many scholars discussed the significance of literary works and supported the selection of them.First of all,it briefly reviews the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,summarizes the compilation of textbooks of the advanced stage comprehensive Chinese courses in each period,and the basic principles of the compilation of the textbook,as well as the relationship between textbooks and the syllabus.Selected eight sets of textbooks in the advanced stage of the Chinese Comprehensive course in different periods,analyzed the changes of literary works in number,time and genre,and the trend of the changes with time.Chose four sets of textbooks to carry out a comparative study of the textbook,to analyze the differences in text length,new words,annotations and text abridge,so as to explore the relationship between the selected texts of the the advanced stage of Comprehensive course and literary works.It can be found that the number of literary works compiled by the comprehensive Chinese textbook at the advanced stage has been declining,and the literary works selected are more and more dominated by contemporary works.The masterpieces of modern literature,which were opposed by most scholars in the early years,were basically disappearing in the textbooks.In addition,the selection of textbook are more and more diverse in style,the proportion of practical style are increasing in later textbooks.Through the statistical analysis of the selected texts of many sets of textbooks,the problems in the selected texts are pointed out,and some suggestions are made for the selection of literary works in the advanced stage of Chinese comprehensive course.
