Chen Yuanliang's book of An Overview of Chinese Conventional Festivals which records folk culture before the Southern Song Dynasty.It is also a compilation of the festival folk custom at that time.The study of this book will help us to understand the political,economic,cultural,folk and other aspects of the society in a comprehensive and in-depth manner.The word of this book is characterized by its wide and contemporary characteristics,which reflect the festival life characteristics of the people before the Southern Song Dynasty.However,there are many difficult names,and the interpretation of these words can help us to understand the meaning of folk culture clearly in the Song Dynasty.The thesis is divided into two parts: introduction and text.The introduction mainly introduces the main contents and compilation features of the chronicle,the author's life,version overview,research status,research process,methods and research significance.The body is divided into two categories: things words and custom words.Things words is mainly to explain the concrete nouns,custom words is mainly to explain the custom abstract words.The concluding part is to summarize the content of the text,put forward to innovation and deficiency of this paper,and some aspects to be perfected in the future.This article mainly based on the wide difficult names(dictionary uncollected or unknown)interpretation as the research object,through the traditional exegetical methods,with synchronic and diachronic research and the analysis of relevant folk culture,in order to interpret difficult names depending on the origin of evolution.Designed to supplement terms and insufficient of interpretations for the Comprehensive Chinese Word Dictionary,as beneficial study on folk words.It is also significant of lexicography?literature emendation and folk culture research.
