The friendship between China and Pakistan goes back in history.With the opening of China-Pakistan economic corridor(CPEC),both countries are facing enormous opportunities and challenges in different fields e.g.politics,economy,science and technology,education,and culture.Language,on the other hand,has become the most important communication medium.Its role cannot be ignored.This paper investigated universities in Islamabad region,mainly through questionnaire survey and interview from the teaching staff and Chinese learners and collected data about Chinese syllabus and curriculum,teaching materials,classroom teaching,after-school use of Chinese language,and assessment of Chinese learner.This paper analyze the basic situation of teachers,language background as well as teaching workload of teachers;the basic situation of Chinese learners,learning motivation and learning situation;the use of Chinese syllabus and Chinese curriculum;the use of Chinese textbooks and extracurricular reading;Teaching methods and its results,teaching language,also the effectiveness of multimedia and online teaching,as well as after-school use of Chinese language;assessment of Chinese learner.This paper analyzes the existing problems faced in Chinese teaching in Islamabad universities and tries to propose solutions to it.The purpose of this article is to give a contribution to the development of Chinese language teaching and Chinese language learning in Pakistan.
