Reading course is one of the basic lesson types of Chinese teaching.The aim of reading teaching is to train students’ reading skills and develop their reading ability.In the course of long-term Chinese reading teaching,many theories and methods about Chinese reading have been accumulated in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.However,how to improve Chinese reading ability in practical teaching is still a problem.In the practice of teaching,the author has found that students pay less attention to Chinese reading lessons and there are also some problems in their reading habits.Therefore,on the basis of investigation,the author conducts specific teaching designs and puts them in reading teaching,and proposes some suggestions for improving reading teaching.This article first investigates students’ potential problems in reading and then conducts targeted teaching designs,and puts forward some suggestions for reading teaching.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is the background and significance of this article,and the summary of the previous studies.The second part is a survey about students’ learning situation of intermediate Chinese learning in the refresher classes.Reading habits and reading levels of the students are investigated at the beginning of the semester.The third part is the teaching designs about intermediate Chinese reading.This part first analyzes the teaching object,teaching materials,teaching aims and teaching strategies,and then combines the students’ reading habits and gives specific teaching designs.The fourth part is the reflection and suggestion of teaching practice.Combining with the students’ feedback on reading teaching and the teacher’s reflection,this article summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the teaching plan and gives some suggestions.The fifth part is the conclusion.This part further explores the teaching design of intermediate Chinese reading,and analyzes the deficiency of this article.
