Learning strategy is one of the most important aspects of second language acquisition.The Reading strategy is a specific branch of the learning strategy.but the study of reading strategies in the domestic started later and results were less.To Use reading strategies can improve students reading ability effectively,and improving reading ability is an important goal for international students in intermediate stage.However,there was no investigation on the use of reading strategies by students in the intermediate stage of Henan University before that,and it was not clear that the specific circumstances of the students' use of reading strategies.In view of the importance of reading strategies and the actual requirement of the Henan University International Chinese Language Institute.We constructs a questionnaire with certain reliability and validity.The use of reading strategies of 60 intermediate students in Henan University was investigated.Using excel and SPSS software to comprehensively analyze the data obtained,and the results are as follows:1.International students at the intermediate level of Henan University,he frequency of reading strategies is generally on the low side.2.in the reading process of intermediate students,the Compensation strategy is an effective strategy to help students to read.3.Thai students have the lowest frequency of using metacognitive strategies,and there are significant differences compared with East Asian students,which urgently needed to be improved.After getting the results of the survey,dissect the weakness of different students in the use of reading strategies,this Paper also carefully analyzed the textbook “Developing Chinese and Intermediate Reading” from the aspects of the content,sources,different reading requirements,and problem setting characteristics of the article,try to explore how to use this set of textbooks to teach students to use reading strategies effectively.Four principles must be followed in reading strategy teaching: 1.Teaching reading strategies should be combined with specific texts.2.Teaching reading strategies should be flexible.3.Teaching freading strategies should be gradual.4.Teaching reading strategies should be centered on students and teach students in accordance with their aptitude.This paper provides a new idea for the reading course of foreign students at the intermediate stage.It provides some references for reading class teachers to analyzing the textbooks.All of them are conducive to improve the frequency of reading strategies used by students,and help students improve their reading ability.
