As the core of teaching practice,textbook is an important reference for teaching and learning.The part of practice in textbooks for oversea learners is indispensable.A good textbook,in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,is inseparable from the design of the explanation and practice.Nowadays,with the flourishing development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,there is still a lot of space for the study of the textbooks.However,the relevant research is now focusing on the overall design and the comparison between different textbooks,but lacks study on practice design,in particular,for the design of individual grammatical items.As one of the special syntactic structures in modern Chinese,verb-copying sentence is characterized by repeated verbs and compact structure which has its specific meaning.It is frequently used in modern spoken Chinese.The author selects this grammatical item and did a survey of several textbooks that have been widely adopted at present.This paper is aimed to investigate the practice of verb-copying sentences in the textbook of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Through the result of questionnaires we found that learners have certain difficulties in grasping this special grammar correctly.Based on the previous research results,the author will sort different kinds of verb-copying sentences in order of difficulty.The purpose and principle of designing practice are both taken as the theoretical basis.The types of practice should be divided into mechanical practice,comprehensive practice,and interpersonal practice.Also,this paper points out the advantages and disadvantages through the concrete analysis of each patterns.Combined with the situation of students’ errors,the author has put forward her points of view on practice design.By consulting a large amount of papers and researches,the author finds that most studies of verb-copying sentences are from the perspective of linguistic ontology but lays less stress on teaching.After a thorough investigation of several Chinese language textbooks,the author noticed that only a few verb-copying sentences appear in the book but there is hardly any design specifically for practicing.The verb-copying sentence is frequently used in the daily modern Chinese,and it occupies a distinct place in modern Chinese linguistics.Therefore,verb-copying sentence is indeed worth paying attention to in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Combining the analysis of biased errors of learners with the practice features of verb-copying sentence in textbooks,the paper is going to find out certain problems existing in the practice.Aiming at these problems,the author will offer some advices and designing specific practice sample.Hope to provide a reference for teaching and acquisition of verb-copying sentence. |
