In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,the modal adverb has always been one of the most key difficult points in teaching.This thesis mainly selects a small class of the modal adverb,"Biran" category of modal adverbs "Yiding,Kending,Biding,Biran" "as the research object.This thesis is first makes a detailed study of the“Biran,category of modal adverbs from the three planes of semantics,syntax and pragmatics,and summarizes their respective characteristics.Secondly,through the retrieval and analysis of HSK corpus,we summarize the errors produced by overseas students in the use of these four words,and classify these errors,and summarize the reasons for their formation.Finally,the corresponding teaching strategy and teaching design are put forward.The first chapter is the prolegomenon,mainly from the significance and purpose of the study,the status of the study of modal adverbs and the status of the study of the tone adverbs in Chinese as a foreign language.The research status of the "Biran" category of modal adverbs and the methods of research and the source of the corpus are discussed.The second chapter,from the three aspects of semantics,syntax and pragmatics,makes a detailed analysis of the commonalities and personalities of "Yiding","Kending","Biran" and "Biding".Semantically,the author mainly analyzes the semantics of these four words from the dictionary definition,the semantic feature and the semantic structure model.In syntax,the author first examines the syntactic position of"Yiding","Kending","Biran,and "Biding",and then examines the use of these four words with personal pronouns,modal verbs and judgement verb,.In pragmatics,the author examines the applied styles of these four words,and finds that "Yiding" and "Kending" are often used in spoken language,while "Biran" and "Biding" are often used in written language.Meanwhile,the author also analyzes the expression functions of these four words.The third chapter is an error analysis of "Yiding"," Kending,"Bi ran" and "Biding".Through the investigation and analysis of HSK corpus,the author summed up six types of errors,namely,spelling mistakes,omissions,misuses,disordering,misusing and mixing.The fourth chapter to the fifth chapter is the analysis of the reasons for the error of the "bi ran" category of modal adverbs and the teaching strategies.In the analysis of the causes of errors,the author analyzes the causes of the errors of "Yiding","Kending","Biran" and "Biding" from five aspects,namely,native language,target language,teacher's explanation,learning strategies and textbook compilation.In terms of learning strategies,the author puts forward five suggestions,and selects the highest frequency of "Yiding" from these four words to compile instructional design.
