In modern Chinese,there is a syntactic format:“V1又VP1,V2又VP2”,like“吃又吃不饱,睡又睡不好”,“烧又烧不完,卖又卖不掉”,“提又提不上去,赶又赶不下去”.The author collected 179 sentences which contain or relate to“V1又VP1,V2又VP2”.According to the context of these sentences,this dissertation analyzed the features and functions of this format from syntax,semantics and pragmatics.This thesis analyzes the format from the perspective of syntax firstly.Based on the collected corpus,the component“V”was analyzed and its semantic characteristics of“autonomy”was obtained.The speech feature of“V”is monosyllables,and only a few were double-syllables.We analyzed the relationship between“V1”and“V2”.The component“VP”is mainly in the form of“V不C”.We also summarized the syntactic functions of this format.Then we study“V1又VP1,V2又VP2”from the perspective of semantics and pragmatics,.The meaning of this format is to describe a situation of awkward and helpless.We believe that this format has an anti-forecast expression,and the expression of the format is subjective.Due to the collection of corpus,we found that this format can be used not only in“V又VP”but also with other formats that belong to“V副VP”.That means this format is derivative and flexible.Finally,we tried to search this format in several textbooks of advanced Chinese,such as“Developing Chinese”(Intermediate Comprehensive Course)and“Developing Chinese”(Advanced Comprehensive Course)of Beijing Language and Culture University Press and“Chinese”(Junior Middle School)of Jinan University Press.Based on the research results,we proposed some reasonable suggestions about how to choose teaching contents and analyzed the teaching methods,also provided a teaching design about this format.
